INTRODUCTION

The Fifth Workshop of the Asian Network on Climate Science and Technology (ANCST) is organised in conjunction with Asia Pacific Network for Global Change Research (APN), Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and other partners. The Workshop will serve as a platform for researchers, experts and policy makers to interact and discuss science and technology needs and priorities for climate and disaster resilience, post Sendai 2015. Other aspects covered include practices in climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction and integration of CCA and DRR as well as accounting for disaster losses.

CALL FOR PAPERS

Papers are invited from practitioners on experiences in climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction or integration of both aspects, in the following areas:-

  • National and local risk assessments for fast and slow onset climate related geophysical and atmospheric hazards;
  • Collection, analysis, management and use of disaggregated data and information for decision making;
  • Development and dissemination of location-based disaster risk information;
  • Management of regional and trans-boundary risks.

Abstracts of about 100-150 words should reach the ANCST Secretariat by 25 September 2015.

REGISTRATION FEES

A registration fee of USD100 will be charged covering admission to scientific sessions, lunch and refreshments during breaks. A waiver of registration fees will be considered for accepted abstracts.

VISA REQUIREMENTS

Participants are responsible for securing their entry visas to The Philippines. Participants are requested to check with the Philippines Embassy in their respective countries regarding visa requirements and application procedures.
